Carrigan Community Bands Together to Help Others

The Carrigan Intermediate School students, staff and families worked together to raise over $1,000 to help needy families in Ghana and Liberia. Above is a picture of the bulletin board that represents their efforts. For $1 one received a small goat to decorate, and for $5 a larger goat. In just over three weeks, the school has raised over $1,381. This was in addition to a Toys for Tots campaign run by the Student Council which collected 1000 toys for needy children and over 3400 items of non-perishable food for WHEAT, the local food bank.

Ainsworth Praises West Haven
“It is with gratitude and respect that I dedicate this book to the leaders, curriculum supervisors, curriculum designers, and educators of West Haven, Connecticut. What they have accomplished together in such a relatively short amount of time is nothing short of remarkable. I want to especially thank Superintendent Neil Cavallaro for his unflagging support and Assistant Superintendent Anne Druzolowski for her visionary leadership, tenacity, and genuine caring for all. It continues to be both an honor and a privilege to work with such dedicated professionals and truly wonderful people. You have all contributed greatly to make this process both real and doable, and your work will have a far-reaching impact on education, both within and beyond the West Haven community.”
