Bowl-2-Benefit/ March 6, 2010

There is a
major fund-raiser for Domestic Violence Services to be held at the
Milford AMC Bowling Lanes on Sat, 3/6/10. They are seeking the
involvement of WHHS students and/or teachers and staff in this great,
fun event. The Bowl-a-thon would be a wonderful way for students to
help their community and earn service hours. Materials regarding this
event will be in the School Counseling Office.The DVSGNH do important
work for victims and their children..If interested, please stop by the
School Counseling Office.
Gypsy Garcia and Brandon Patterson will be joining senior
Eric Pang as WHHS Student Representatives
to the Board of Education.


The West Haven Football Alumni Association
will honor one of its all-time greats, Bert Siclari, at a roast at the
West Haven Italian-American Club Feb. 26 at 6:30 p.m.
Siclari was a defensive star on the famed 1968 West Haven state championship team that was ranked fifth in the nation.
After college he returned to his alma mater to begin a long coaching
career, first under the late Tom Hunt and then as an assistant to
longtime veteran coach Ed McCarthy. He retired from coaching in 2002
after 33 years.
Tickets for the roast are $30, which includes a ziti dinner with beer,
wine and soda. A cash bar for liquor will also be available.
A large crowd is expected, so an advanced ticket purchase is recommended.

Special Note about the Safety & Security of WHHS
In the event of a threat to West Haven High School, the school administration will work closely with the Superintendent of Schools and the West Haven Police Department to assess the credibility of the threat and to assure that the school and its campus are safe for students and staff. Each instance will be analyzed and dealt with according to the information received, placing the safety and security of all students and staff as our utmost priority.
Parents will be notified of this information through our automated phone/email system and with updates on the WHHS website.
Special Note to Parents About Early Dismissals
Re: Dismissal procedure for illness/injury
If a student is being dismissed due to illness/injury the student must be dismissed from the nurses office. This procedure protects student safety and serves as a record for the nurses.
